guest feedback
It is an absolutely outstanding place to stay with everything you need to enjoy a self-catering holiday. We had a family get-together there for a birthday and couldn\'t have been happier. Situated at the loch-side, the views and location are stunning.
The house itself is huge and had plenty of room for us 8 guests. Lovely decor throughout and all mod-cons in the kitchen, with the Aga put to very good use! All linen and towels were provided and there were highchairs for our little ones, which were kept in the separate \'drying\' room beside the kitchen. Lots of old books to read to pass the time and also a playroom at the front with kids games, TV and the like.
All in all, we were extremely happy with the house and will DEFINITELY be going back again, hopefully in the not-too-distant future.

Perfect property for young families and pets. Stunning views over the loch. Early morning swimming from the slipway to the buoy and back was memorable (training for the Blenheim triathlon). There is passing traffic to the quarry but go the other side of the quarry and you\'ll have the place to yourself. . . and it is stunning! I want to point out that this is not a reason to not visit - we loved Ben Duirinnis.

This property has the most fantastic setting of any house I have stayed in. It is literally on the loch and has a great view. It also has its own drive and gate but almost unnecessary as there is no one for quite some distance from what I could make out. The rooms are a comfortable size and the living room is huge with a great fireplace. It's a runners and a cyclists dream in case you want to get fit! Stunning, stunning, stunning!

The house has lovely bedrooms (some great views), a spacious sitting room and cosy kitchen with aga. Views from the house over the loch are unspoilt and being at the end of the Bonawe road there are lots of lovely walks along the loch (go through quarry). Tonnes to see and do nearby. Sea kayaking for eg (rent stuff in Oban)

The Bignalls, May 2010
We had such an amazing week and absolutely LOVED Ben Duirinnis. The perfect place to relax with stunning views, ample bedrooms and tonnes of hot water after swimming in the loch for mussels. The slipway was perfect for a pre-breakfast swim to the buoy and back (training for Blenheim Triathlon and it paid off!). Cycling along the loch to the Kirk was beautiful, kayaking the Lora Falls (supervised) and eating scallops fresh from the pier in Oban were all highlights of our hols. Please can we book for next year and stay longer!

I really enjoyed our holiday. We love the house and the peace and quiet and I caught a fish! Dining room table dodgy – be wary! (note from Owners – the pin in the dodgy table leg has been replaced.

A wonderful house with lovely views. I had great fun climbing hills, going on Sea-Fari and playing on the beach. All in all, a great holiday and can’t wait to come back again.

A lovely house full of character – loved all the history! What are the hooks for in the dining room?? (note from Owners – Dining room was the original kitchen and hooks were for hanging the meat)

We have had the most wonderful time in this amazing house and beautiful setting. The loch has been fantastic for kayaking, swimming and even “crabbing”! We have enjoyed walks around the quarry and climbing the hills behind the house. Highlights have been climbing Ben Nevis – a tiring yet hugely rewarding experience – and taking a speedboat tour, from Oban, of the local area. Thank you.
