Ben Duirinnis House is a large and well equipped self catering holiday cottage by Bonawe, near Oban and on the shores of Loch Etive in Argyll. Sleeping 8, with five large bedrooms, the house is perfect for large families, groups and outdoor enthusiasts. The holiday cottage is in a secluded spot with extensive private gardens and grounds and spectacular views across Loch Etive to Ben Cruachan and Taynuilt. Only 13 miles from Oban, where there are many tourist activities and plenty of excellent restaurants.
Comfortable Self Catering Facilities
Ben Duirinnis has five bedrooms and can accommodate up to eight people, making it ideal for large families, or joint holidays with friends, and with room to bring the grandparents too! There are two twin bedded rooms, two double bedrooms and one single bedroom. The property has two bathrooms plus a downstairs shower room.
The spacious drawing room with open fire, dining room and “snug” for the children are full of character and comfortably furnished. Two televisions are provided and WIFI internet access is also included.
The large, well equipped farmhouse style kitchen includes an electric cooker and Aga, fridge/freezer, microwave and dishwasher. The laundry room provides a washing machine, tumble drier and large airers for drying clothes.
Explore the Oban area
Ben Duirinnis House is set in a secluded situation on the shores of Loch Etive, but is only 13 miles from Oban, known as the Gateway to the Isles. There are a wide range of tourist activities and attractions in the area and Oban is quite rightly one of the most popular holiday destinations in Scotland.
The holiday cottage is an ideal base for hillwalking, with Ben Nevis and Ben Cruachan within an hour’s drive, excellent opportunities for mountain biking around the nearby islands of Lismore or Kerrera or along the forestry tracks, great road cycling along cycle paths and quiet roads, or first class wildlife spotting for seals, otters and many rare birds.
Activities for all the family include the nearby Sea Life Centre with Seal Rescue, the Hollow Mountain, Balamory on the Isle of Mull, Oban Distillery and Bonawe Iron Furnace. Outdoor enthusiasts are spoilt for choice with great walking, mountain biking, kayaking, climbing walls and more. Wildlife lovers can choose from guided tours, boat trips to see golden eagles, seals, red deer and much more.

The holiday cottage lies in eight acres of grounds, including lawns, woodland and paths running along the shores of Loch Etive with a slipway suitable for kayaks or small craft. Offering stunning views of Ben Cruachan and the surrounding scenery, the garden is perfect for children to play in and explore.
